Moze Naél & Winterdagen "Wegdromen"

‘A visual journey through the highs and lows of becoming an adult. Wegdromen (Dreaming Away) balances a gritty, cinematic atmosphere with a story of hope, following a path where the past and future constantly intersect. A reflection on life, death, and the light found in between. Wegdromen is the second video-release of their EP 'Lange Leegtes'

For Wegdromen, I wanted to create a visual metaphor for Moze’s journey: a man in constant motion who somehow never seems to get closer to his destination. To capture this feeling of a lingering childhood, we sought out a landscape that felt like another world: the 'Dutch desert' of Vlieland.

To achieve this surreal shot, we chose a 1200mm focal length. This required us to align a 500-meter path with surgical precision, ensuring the rising sun would crest directly behind Moze as he walked towards the lens. It was a technical gamble in a challenging environment, but it allowed us to capture visuals that fit Moze’s music and lyrics in a poetic way.
