Mozet, Maizeret, Hotton & Frêne

Commissioned by the NKBV (Royal Dutch Mountaineering and Climbing Association), this series of short films explores four climbing areas across Belgium: Mozet, Maizeret, Hotton, and Roche à Frêne.

Unlike the high-stakes reputation of Freyr, these crags represent the diverse soul of Belgian climbing. From the hidden limestone quarries of the Meuse valley to the unique conglomerate tower in Frêne. These films serve as both visual field guides and personal narratives.

Filming in these locations is a constant search for the right angles and how to reach them. Whether capturing Tess cycling through the valley or filming from a hanging position just above the water, each shot was a logistical challenge. Navigating these unique terrains to find the perfect perspective makes every shoot both a technical puzzle and a true adventure.
